Implementation Guidelines for the Holistic Educations Passport Program

Enacted on March 6, 2001.

Amended on October 21, 2010.

Promulgated on October 29, 2010, through Hai-Xue-Ke-Zi No.0990013408B.

I.       Purpose

These guidelines are established to encourage students to participate in activities related to five areas of education: moral, intellectual, physical, social, and aesthetic. The aim is to foster character development, implement holistic education, cultivate leadership skills, establish a service mindset, and enrich leisure life.

II.      Scope of Application

Students of National Taiwan Ocean University.

III.     Scope of Certification

(a)   Serving as an officer for a full semester in autonomous organizations, volunteer groups, clubs, department associations, or class committees.

(b)   Excelling in on-campus or off-campus volunteer work.

(c)   Participating in activities organized by clubs or serving as an event officer.

(d)   Participating in various workshops or camps, both on and off-campus.

(e)   Assisting in organizing major events on and off-campus.

(f)   Winning awards in various on and off-campus competitions.

(g)   Receiving any on or off-campus scholarships or grants.

(h)   Other outstanding deeds as recognized by the event organizers of the University.

IV.     Certification Method

Students must enter the certification items into the “Academic Information System” and attach the corresponding proof documents. Once verified and approved by the system administrator, the certification items will be displayed on the “Academic Information System” page, completing the registration.

V.      Certification Inquiry and Correction

Students can access the “Academic Information System” online to view their activity registration data. If errors are found, they should prepare the necessary proof documents and request corrections and registration with the Division of Extracurricular Activities.

VI.    Passport Application

To apply for a passport, students must first pay a fee at the Cashier Section and then, with the receipt, print the passport at the Division of Extracurricular Activities.

VII.   The passport can be used as a recommendation document for the following:

(a)     Applying for relevant scholarships.

(b)     Assisting in domestic or international further education applications.

(c)     Employment applications.

(d)     Other purposes.

VIII.  If the passport contains false or forged information and is verified as such, the student will be disciplined in accordance with the University’s regulations.

IX.    These guidelines are implemented following approval by the University President.

Note:  These guidelines are formulated in Chinese. In case of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
