Student Dormitory Regulations

Attention: According to Student Dormitory Regulations

Refund

Freshman (only first semester), drop-out, expelled, or graduate can be considered to return dormitory fee with the following conditions:

1.        First day of registration, dormitory fee will be fully returned;

2.        After first day of registration, but before 1/3 of the semester, 1/2 of the dormitory fee will be returned.

※   Freshman (second semester), voluntary move out, or disobeyed Student Dormitory Regulations Rule 14 and suspended for lodging qualification, no refund will be given.

Penalty for Late Moving Out

Students must move out at the end of term of contract. Failure to do so will result in penalty fee charged NT$120 daily starting from the end of term of contract to the day of moving out.

Personal Belongs Left in Dormitory

The Office of Dormitory Guidance is not responsible for the students’ belongs left in dormitory after moving out. These belongs might be cleaned up when necessary.

Note: To maintain safety and discipline, a point system for violations has been adopted in the dormitories. If a student has the following behaviors and accumulates up to or over ten points for violations, the office will compel him/her to move out immediately. Student Punishment Regulations (part of Student Dormitory Regulations) are listed below.

※  Lodging students are not allowed to have the following behaviors:

1.        Sublease assigned bed without authorization, or enter restricted areas during summer vacation. (Deduct 10 points)

2.        Gambling, playing Ma-Jhong, drunk, fighting, jumping over walls or windows, stealing, or any other illegal actions. (Deduct 10 points)

3.        Store or use hazardous, illegal or easily burnt objects. (Deduct 10 points)

4.        Keep guests or invite opposite sex into the dormitory without authorization. (Deduct 10 points)

5.        Smoking in non-smoking areas or in the dormitory (including balcony, stairways, etc.) for the first time, students will be expelled or have to fulfill dormitory services. Failure to fulfill dormitory services within certain time will still be expelled. Students smoke in dormitories the second time will be expelled.

6.        Damage or improperly use fire extinguishers or other fire security related equipments. (Deduct 10 points)

7.        Change originally designated bed place without authorization. (Deduct 5 points)

8.        Lead merchants into the dormitory for trading purpose. (Deduct 5 points)

9.        Have pets without authorization. But if needed for lessons and agreed by all roommates, it is not restricted. (Deduct 5 points)

10.   Install electrical appliances without authorization; e.g. refrigerator, dehumidifier, television set, electric stove, heater, cooker, electric blanket, microwave, oven, or any other electrical appliance higher than 500W (the hair dryer is excluded). (Deduct 5 points)

11.   Make loud noise disturbing others’ sleep or study. (Deduct 5 points)

12.   Not following the dormitory notice items and not cooperating with bed-checking. (Deduct 4 points)

13.   Not packing one’s belongings and storing at the designated place in summer break. (Deduct 4 points)

14.   Any other behavior disturbing dormitory safety and order. (Deduct 5 points)

15.   Violation of campus internet rules, resulting in internet infringement, network intrusion, and abnormal flow, etc. (Deduct 7 points)

16.   Violation of Student Dormitory Rules (學生宿舍公約). (Deduct 3 points)
